The Bank of England held its base rate at 3.75% today, amidst some uncertainty surrounding energy prices: https://bbc.in/4egjcWK
Inflation has remained stable, albeit above the Bank's 2% target. BoE governor Andrew Bailey welcomed the US-Iran agreement but also urged caution as energy prices continue to run higher than they did before the conflict.

NEW BLOG POST - Few cities can rival Edinburgh’s architectural beauty. From the elegant Georgian crescents of the New Town to the grand Victorian villas of Morningside and the characterful tenements of Marchmont and Bruntsfield, the city’s period homes continue to capture the imagination of buyers from across Scotland and beyond.
While modern homes offer convenience and energy efficiency, period properties provide something many buyers find impossible to resist: character. Original architectural details, generous proportions and a sense of history combine to create homes that feel unique and full of personality.
It’s no surprise that period homes remain some of the most sought-after properties in Edinburgh. But what exactly are buyers looking for when they step through the door? Here are ten of the features that consistently make buyers fall in love with Edinburgh’s period homes: https://bit.ly/4frJgPH

Did you know ... box beds used to be a common feature of pre-19th century tenements.
These sleeping compartments were sometimes built into recesses or cupboards within the walls. A common feature in Edinburgh tenement flats, they made it easy to heat sleeping areas efficiently and gave a little more privacy.
Box beds might be enclosed by sliding or hinged panels, creating a compact space within a larger room. Surviving examples are rare, but those that still exist are considered important historic interior features.
