Are you an emerging creative aged 16 to 30?
The Stove Network is looking for your proposals to explore and creatively interpret the relationship between young people in Dumfries and the townโs historic Rood and Spring Fairs.
These fairs are one of Scotlandโs oldest civic traditions, embedded in the townโs cultural fabric for centuries. Yet as Dumfries evolves, how do these traditional events continue to resonate with the townโs younger generations? What memories are being created nowโand what futures can be imagined for the fairs?
The creative practitioner will be supported by The Stoveโs creative team and Fair Scotland to develop a final creative outcome in any form, which will be part of an ongoing dialogue about belonging, identity, heritage, and cultural life in Dumfries.
