I remember over the years my brother Stevie Rice time and again calling me Daniel. I never really thought much of it at the times, just one of those things, slip of the tongue, a lapse of concentration, but recently after spending one of the best days I've had in a very long time, seeing Stevie with his fantastic family, especially Daniel, hearing his speech about a son he is so clearly proud of, who has turned out to be one of the most fantastic gentlemen I have associated with, I look now at Stevie calling me Daniel as one of the nicest compliments anyone could give me.

I am a very proud uncle of a man who has recently married a wonderful lady Aimee Rice, a man who has so much love and respect for his mum, Anne Rice, a man who is adored by his sisters Ciara, Gemma and Grainne, a man who is the epitome of everything a father hopes his son could be and is well on his way to being the best dad to his two beautiful children.

If its ok with you Daniel I'll actively be looking to hear my brother slip up from time to time in the future and call me Daniel by mistake. I'll hear it and smile because I couldn't hope to be mistaken for a better man.
