David Brown Racing

With the arrival of the cheques from the church Today we have the final total for the money raised in lieu of Flowers at David’s funeral.
The total was £2,361.00. £1001,00 from the church collection and £1,360.00 at the reception afterwards.
So today I have written cheques to send to Marie Curie and The Injured Jockeys Fund for £1,014.00 each and £333.00 to the Church fund. What a fantastic amount of money raised from donations and the sale of Davids collection colourful Ties!

That’s it Folks - The curtain is down, our very last runner saddled -
David Brown Racing is no more.
Unfortunately we couldn’t manage to go out with a winner, but Thank You so much to Southwell Racecourse for making our final meeting a special occasion.
They organised a presentation of Champagne and a Crystal plaque to mark the occasion, followed by a celebratory glass of champers at the end of racing. Many thanks to the Team at Southwell, we have had some great times racing with you. Hopefully we will be back in the future on the ’other’ side as spectators, or owners.
