Build Your Own Biosphere. Part 1: Utopian Modelmaking (Art Press []) 🏞️

Sat 14 Mar 2-4pm
Free & open to all aged 25 and under

Build Your Own Biosphere is a three-part workshop series led by artists Amy J Wilson [] and Meitao Qu [], exploring how methods of model-making can be used to imagine utopian futures and prompt reflective dialogue about climate challenges. Drawing inspiration from Biosphere 2 and other experimental environments, the series introduces participants to physical and digital model-making techniques to design and build a miniature biosphere. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their outcomes as part of Wilson and Qu’s upcoming exhibition Biosphere IV at Turf Projects in July 2026.

The first session will introduce participants to physical modelling techniques. Participants will shape a miniature terrain base and learn how to apply scenic scatter and foliage.

12 Years of Turf: In-conversation with Phoebe Russell [] 🗣️

Sat 15 Nov 11-1pm @ Turf Projects
Free & open to all!

As part of our 2025/26 LEGACY programme year, we're inviting Turf alumni artists back to reflect on and discuss their careers since their involvement with Turf. Our second alumni artist will be Phoebe Russell, alum of our own collective of young creatives: Art Press [], who has gone on to study on the Fine Art BA at Slade School of Art [] and was recently awarded the Clare Winsten Memorial Award.

Join Phoebe and some of the Turf team for an informal discussion about their initial involvement with Turf, how it's impacted their career and working processes and what they've been up to since.
