📌 Wickford, Basildon

In 2016, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Keepmoat on a residential project in Wickford, Essex. The site comprised 24 homes, on a tight site between the A132 Golden Jubilee Way and Radwinter Avenue.

One of the notable challenges we faced was the design of the timber framing and its details. Working closely with the client and manufacturer, by incorporating their feedback it ensured that every home reflected the project's vision. This resulted in a blend of friendly feeling aesthetics across the site with a splash of rendered units dotted within. This blend of contemporary design now provides an excellent living experience for the residents.

📌 Brentwood, Essex

BDG Design had the privilege of working with Bellway Homes on the challenging Mascalls Park project which was completed in 2020. We were appointed to produce working drawings for a steeply sloping site with a level difference of almost 20 meters from front to back working in conjunction with other consultants.

Given the unique challenges presented by the steeply sloping site, we worked closely with Bellway Homes to ensure that the site was practical, functional, and aligned with their vision for the development.

The underbuild design incorporated into the plots proved to be a necessary addition to the development, allowing us to maximize the site's potential while providing a high-quality living space for the residents.

This was a development that accounted for the site's topography and provided a high-quality living space for the residents. Looking back, we are proud of what we achieved on the Mascalls Park project and are grateful for the opportunity to have worked on this development.

Our use of 3D software to produce accurate designs.

Looking back at our old architectural projects is always a fascinating experience. We get to see how far we've come as a company, and we can appreciate the unique challenges and successes of each project. Today, we want to take a trip down memory lane and revisit one of our most exciting projects from 2011.

The project in question was a commercial/residential building that we designed that's based here in Colchester. The client came to us with a need for a modern, functional space that would serve as a cafe on the ground floor and residential units on the floors above. They wanted a building that would create a welcoming atmosphere for their visitors and homeowners alike.

To help visualize the design, Phil Taylor in our office created CGIs of the building. These computer-generated images showed the building from various angles, allowing the client to see how the design would look in real life. The CGIs helped us fine-tune the design and make adjustments before construction began.

The building which overlooks castle park continues to serve its purpose to this day.

Looking back on this project, we can see how much we've grown as a company. We've taken on bigger challenges, learned new techniques, and embraced new technologies. But one thing remains constant: we are committed to creating exceptional drawing packages that meet and exceed client expectations.

We're proud of what we accomplished all the way back in 2011, and we're excited to see what the future holds here in 2023.
