⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the Operation Mincemeat tour at the Marlowe Theatre!

Some photos from one of the most exciting press nights of the year so far. I loved this musical in London when I first saw it three years ago and it was so exciting getting to revisit the show, but this time here in Kent. 💛

This unbelievable wartime story is brought to life by a sensationally talented cast who can each switch roles in seconds. The fast pacing is one of the many things that I love about this musical and I was honestly blown away by this production, from the cast performances to the exquisite comedic timing. The masterminds behind this musical adaptation, SpitLip, are creative geniuses! 👏

You can check out my full thoughts over on the website now, but in my opinion, Operation Mincemeat has everything you’d want from a comedy musical!

Operation Mincemeat UK Tour Review (The Marlowe Theatre)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This week I was fortunate enough to attend the press night for Operation Mincemeat at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. Having watched this musical a couple of times in London and been completely wowed by it on both occasions, I was so looking forward to seeing how the show would fare as a touring piece of theatre.

Making friends through theatre… Avenue Q with . 💛

Something that isn’t largely talked about is how difficult it is to make new friends as you get older. I turned 30 this year and as an introvert, over the years, have found it difficult to put myself out there and meet new people.

Last week I met up with my friend Liv for dinner and a show, and it was the nicest evening! I met Liv through a press night at the and it turns out, we have so much in common, from theatre to travel and more.

I wanted to post this to my feed, to not only save a wonderful memory, but also to acknowledge how important it is just to go for it sometimes!

A Spring theatre trip that didn’t make it to the grid…. The Producers. 🎭

At the end of March I booked a last minute solo trip to The Producers in the West End, after hearing such great things about this production. I went into the show with no prior knowledge of the material, other than being aware of a few songs, but I was excited to finally see this critically acclaimed musical.

I thought the cast were absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t fault the quality of the production, but honestly the narrative and humour felt a bit dated to me. The storyline is outrageous and it’s designed to cause equal offence to everyone, but in my opinion, it’s a piece of its time.

Interestingly, everyone else seemed to be having the most hilarious time, so I seemed to be in the minority with this opinion! The beauty of theatre though is that we all react differently to shows and it’s been a while since I didn’t massively enjoy something in the West End.

If you’ve seen it, what did you think of the show? 😊

A night at the opera. 🎶🌙

Yesterday evening my Dad and I headed to the Marlowe Theatre here in Canterbury to watch English Touring Opera’s production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s ‘The Gondoliers’. This was my third experience of opera and first Gilbert & Sullivan show, and I loved how funny and easy to watch it is.

Highlights are the extravagant costumes, set design and the choreography. The characters also have some truly exuberant personalities, which are brought to life brilliantly by the company.

‘The Gondoliers’ was at the Marlowe for one night only, but tomorrow English Touring Opera are presenting a participatory opera for children ‘Ada and the Code Crusaders’ in the Studio venue. There are also two more ETO productions planned for April 2027: Gluck’s ‘Orpheus and Eurydice’ and Puccini’s ‘Tosca’. Touring opera is how I first became acquainted with the art form and I am always pleased to see more opera on the theatre’s schedule!

A big thank you to the venue for having us. ❤️
