There are special events throughout the year, a medieval jousting tournament, the summer solstice evenings with Shakespeare, Medieval Mêlee at the height of the summer to Halloween and scary Victorian Christmas.

Upcoming Event at the Castle - September 15th, our Beating Retreat, a traditional military ceremony. Before the event starts at 6pm at the Castle, will Siencyn, goat of the Royal Welch, will be led through the city center by the Goat Major Sergeant David Joseph to the accompaniment section of Drums of the Royal Welsh and the piper Gurkhaidd between 4pm-6pm. Two lightweight 105mm gun (the same as those currently used in campaigns in Afghanistan) will mark the beginning and end of the ceremony.
