The event is accessible with live transcription in over 30 languages.
Performances include:
Wales: Re-Live’s Company of Elders will perform life stories that capture the enduring power of the human spirit through the lens of childhood dreams, the strength of community bonds, and the rediscovery of freedom in later years.
Brazil: Older adults living with aphasia will perform therapeutic clowning, using humour and non-verbal expression to highlight the power of communication and emotional wellbeing, led by Dr. Lenisa Brandão from Porto Alegre.
New York: Older people from 14 nationalities will perform a dance that celebrates inclusivity and belonging, reflecting the diversity of the Queens Center for Gay Seniors. The piece is co-created with Magda Kaczmarska and Hilary Brown-Istrefi.
South Africa: The Abahlali Base Freedom Park Elders Soup Kitchen group will perform songs that celebrate the strength of intergenerational bonds and community connections.

Spread the Word:

We invite you to join us on October 1st to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons and the right to be creative at any age.
