‘The Exhibition Continues Downstairs’ is fast approaching! Today we’d love to share with you the work of Stephanie Kelly…

While her family are from the East Midlands, Steph was actually born in the Middle East. Dubai, the Dordogne, Qatar, Rutland, North Cyprus, Oxfordshire, Abu Dhabi, Lincolnshire, Bristol and Los Angeles were all “home” for her at one point before the age of twenty-one.

Consequently, her work archives and explores her personal relationships and destabilised familial histories. She recently had her own solo show, ‘In Mindless Pursuit of Trivial Pleasures’ at the Mount Without exploring these themes with a BIG book to follow this summer.

She’s renowned for wearing long coats and prior to working at Photographique, she did a Masters in Liberal Arts, specialising in critical theory, visual culture and the history of art. Although if you asked her to explain her dissertation to you, she probably can’t anymore.

Back from the weekend break (hope you all had a blast) to introduce you to one of our newest members of the team!

Born in Northamptonshire, Elizabeth Blackie studied Photography at Falmouth University in Cornwall and settled in Bristol a year ago. Elizabeth stages scenes in the landscape that draw from personal narratives, memory and the subconscious. Working predominantly in monochrome and often using a flash after dark, she creates images that sit somewhere between reality and fiction. She is currently taking pictures of stones, fungi, caves, wire sculptures, her family, and herself.
