L'Arche Bognor Regis

Day 2 of HopeFest was simply fabulous! 🌞🌧💃 We had a variety of activities from the high ropes, henna tattoos, tai chi, volleyball to drumming, storytelling and LOTS AND LOTS OF DANCING! Even the rain didn't stop us from having fun! Rather, it cooled us down after being sweaty on the dance floor as the The Old Codgers had us up and dancing in less than a minute! We had a lovely visit yesterday from the High Sheriff of West Sussex, Philippa Gogarty. We had tea and asked her lots of questions. It was beautiful to listen to her talk about community, learning from others we think we are there to teach, her idea of and about all the wonderful things that she sees going on in Sussex.

She also asked us what we like about L'Arche, and at the end there was much hilarity as Fred told the story about him and Marcella and the lawnmower!

Today we gathered to give thanks for the life of Sr. Marcella Roe, a great friend of L'Arche and our founding Community Leader in Bognor. She was a very special, gifted lady. As someone shared, she breathed calm into every situation and had a power to persuade people to help with anything - because she herself would help anyone in need and dedicated her life to doing so. She will be very much missed.
