This week’s Featured Album on Around the World at 10pm on Sunday the 14th, is by Malian musician Fatoumata Diawara who describes Massa as “a résumé of my life today”.
Over two hours, you can also hear music from Saigon Soul Revival, Minyo Crusaders, Lila Downs, Officina Zoe, Angélique Kidjo, The Klezmatics, Mexican Institute of Sound, and many more.

When Brazilian saxophonist and band leader Spok discovered his maternal ancestors were from Cameroon, he began composing this week’s featured album. “Raízes” mixes the music influences of both countries on this Sunday's Around the World with Davy Sims at 10pm.
There’s a lot of music from Africa this week: desert blues from Imarhan, Tamikrest, and Tinariwen, experimental Arabic music from Maryam Saleh, Cameroon musicians Kareyce Fotso, and Véro La Reine. And there is music from Slovenia, Canada, Serbia, Finland and more.
