This week at Optimal, we’re focusing on celebrating the small wins with our members.

Celebrating small wins is one of the best ways to build motivation and sustainable habits.

Why does it matter:
1. Builds momentum for your progress and growth
2. ⁠builds self confidence by setting the realisation that we can do hard things
3. ⁠focus is on accomplishment rather than the long term goal which can be daunting.
4. ⁠sets the bar for consistency as it makes it easier to repeat the positive behaviours.

This week our members are celebrating;
1. Making the early session rather than hitting snooze button
2. ⁠Getting the workout in, even if it was shorter or not as intense as they would have liked.
3. ⁠Trying an exercise they would normally shy away from.

Small wins result in big achievements over time, it’s about building the blocks to the long term goal. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!

At Optimal we are always banging on to our members about not just focusing on the scales when the goal is fat loss. There’s more to progress than what it says on the scales.

Most of us will, at some stage on our fitness or fat loss journey, have worked hard all week in the gym and on our food choices, stepped on the scales and seen little or no change. It can be disheartening.

But, what if we told you body weight can fluctuate daily for many reasons; hydration levels, food intake, salt consumption, hormones, and even stress. Just because the number is bigger on the scales, doesn’t mean you’ve gained body fat.

So, forget about the scales and focus on:
✅ The fit of your clothes
✅ Progress photos
✅ Strength in the gym
✅ How your energy levels are
✅ Recovery levels
✅ Overall body confidence

Yes the scales are a tool but the real progress;
💪 becoming stronger
🥗 feeling healthier
🧱 building habits that are sustainable in the long term.
