Hello everyone! 🌟

My 26-mile trek is happening this Saturday! 🥾

I’m feeling incredibly nervous 😬 but I assure you, I will give it my all and am determined to finish. This will be my first experience tackling something like this, and no amount of training can truly prepare me for the challenge ahead. I’ll be taking on the Intermediate course around Stonehenge, which means navigating hills, rough terrain, and let’s not forget the unpredictable weather (it’s looking rainy right now! ☔️).

This cause holds a special significance for me. My grandad, who co-founded Atlas over 40 years ago with my nan as a practical HGV driving school, is currently living with Alzheimer’s. 💜 Even though we’ve evolved into CPC and online logistics training, we are immensely proud to carry on my grandparents’ legacy. 🚛❤️

Every donation counts so if you would like to sponsor me please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Trek26Stonehenge202626miles-NatalieMills?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

This journey is for you, G Nan & Ging Gank.

True English weather outside today - erghhh. 🙄I'm pretty much chained to the computer this week finishing all the new content for this years modules but if you're out on the road I thought I would just do a few little tips and tricks for those lovely rainy, wet roads!

🌧️ Wet Weather Driving Tips for HGV & PCV Drivers 🌧️

Driving in the rain? It’s no joke when you're handling a heavy vehicle! Wet roads can be tricky, so here are some quick tips to keep you (and everyone else) safe:

🚛 Give yourself more space – Braking takes longer on wet roads, so back off a bit and give yourself extra stopping distance.

🛑 Test those brakes – Make sure they’re working properly, especially in heavy rain. Wet conditions can make stopping a lot harder.

💡 Lights on, be seen! – Rain = reduced visibility. Use your headlights so other road users can see you clearly.

⚠️ Easy does it – Sudden moves like sharp braking or quick steering can cause skidding. Stay smooth and steady.

🚧 Watch for standing water – Hitting a big puddle at speed can lead to aquaplaning. Avoid where possible and slow down if you can’t.

👀 Stay sharp – Wet weather means unpredictable conditions. Keep your eyes on the road and be ready for anything!

Take it steady out there, and let’s keep the roads safe for everyone! 🚛💨🚦
