Cold weather approaching and you may find your radiators not heating to the top, this is due to trapped air in the system . Turn your heating off , get a radiator key from a DIY store and grab a cloth . Hold a cloth under the valve and use the key to turn the valve at the top of the radiator anti clockwise until you hear the hissing sound of air escaping . Tighten back when the hissing stops and just liquid leaks out . You can then turn your system back on . You may find the boiler pressure can drop after releasing air so check your boiler gauge and use the filling loop to top up to manufacturers levels in your manual. An annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer will keep your heating system lasting longer and working efficiently.
