) is higher (17-19%), as compared to indigenous population (15%) and found to be associated with specific socio-economic adversities and cultural and linguistic barriers. Evidence has also indicated ethnic inequalities in the diagnosis, early detection, access, treatment and outcome of mental illnesses. There is strong evidence for the efficacy of psychological treatments for PND, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is recommended as a first line treatment. However, there is a lack of evidence on the use of culturally adapted psychosocial interventions for ethic minority groups and which included a heath economic assessment. ROSHNI-2 is a five year multicentre (five centres) Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) funded by the National Institute for Health Research, UK. The trial aims to compare a psychosocial intervention for PND, developed specifically for BSA women, called the ‘Positive Health Programme’ (PHP) versus treatment as usual (TAU) and to determine the clinical and cost-effectiveness. The target population is self-ascribed BSA women meeting DSM-5 depression criteria, aged 16 years or above, and having a child up to 12 months of age. The trial aims to recruit 720 participants from GP practices and other community areas across England and Scotland.
