I first met former Vice President Dick Cheney in 2017 at the Commissioning of the USS Gerald R. Ford. He and had some shared memories of early days in the Ford administration. Mr. Cheney was gracious and kind and agreed to let me interview him for my book about Betty Ford—for which he shared some humorous anecdotes. My thoughts are with his wonderful wife Lynne and their daughters Mary and Liz.
