Meet the stunning Red Female of the Gold-Fringed Mason Bee (Osmia aurulenta)! With her striking golden fringe, she’s not just beautiful—she’s an essential pollinator for wildflowers and crops. As a solo worker, she builds nests from mud and plant debris, ensuring her colony’s future with every visit. Unfortunately, this gem is vulnerable due to habitat loss and the decline of wildflower-rich environments. Let’s protect her and all our precious pollinators and to our world by transforming our balconies and gardens into havens for wild bees by planting native wildflowers and not using harmful pesticides.

As someone who keeps bees upstate NY, and is astonished by the sacred nature of cooperation and collaboration, I am thrilled to be an AmBEESador for World Bee Day!
