The majority of Americans get their news from social media sites like Tik Tok, Instagram, and Facebook rather than dedicated news sites like the BBC, The New York Times, and Bloomberg. In an increasingly digital world, we need to examine critically how the general public, especially younger generations, seek and assess information online. What are some common pitfalls in online use? How should parents and educators address the problem of digital overuse among children? Why is social media reform the necessary next step for the U.S.?
