Daouda Diakité (Lierse SK), Wilfried Sanou (Kyoto Sanga FC), Mady Panandetiguiri (Antwerp) et Germain Sanou (AS Saint-Étienne), ont en effet débuté leur carrière par une CAN U-17.

Dans le 11 titulaire des Super Eagles, trois joueurs s'étaient illustrés en U-17 : Ogenyi Onazi et Keneth Omerua, finalistes de la Coupe du Monde U-17 en 2009, et John Obi Mikkel, demi-finaliste de la CAN U-17 2003 au Swaziland /

In the starting 11 of the Super Eagles, three players had shined with the U-17 team : Ogenyi Onazi and Keneth Omerua, finalist of the U-17 World Cup in 2009, and John Obi Mikkel, semi-finalist of the 2003 U-17 AFCON in Swaziland.
