Humanitarian Pathways and Ezidi Family Unification in Europe Ten Years After Genocide - Greece 09/06/2024

Thousands of Ezidis in Germany facing deportation to Iraq ( as part of secret agreement) or to anther European countries under Dublin regulation.

Recently we heard of many deportation cases. 71 years old grandmother Bazn Sino to be deported to Lithuania on Monday, Separating her from all her family who are well settled in Germany. She also serious health issues which make it even more complicated to face deportation. Another case of young man who send a message from detention centre, “I will face violence, my life is in danger if I am deported to Iraq” This is should not be the way that Germany deal with Genocide survivors.

To the government of Germany:
• Stop deporting Ezidis to Iraq, where they have a well-founded fear of persecution and risk of violence, lack basic necessities of life, and cannot safely or practically live in
areas of the country where they lack community or a way to support themselves.

• Give Ezidis who have come to Germany from Iraq since the summer of 2014 residence permits for international law and humanitarian reasons in accordance with Section 23 of the Residence Act.

• Allow Ezidis in Greece (and other EU member states where they lack adequate support such as Cyprus) to be eligible for humanitarian admission programs to particular German states.

Germany: Thuringia introduces ban on deportation for Yazidis 13/01/2024

Germany: Thuringia bans deportations of Ezidis until April 2024

Germany and Iraq reach a secret deal.
How much do you know about Germany's secret deal with Iraq? Please tell us if you know anything…..

Last year, an investigation by the newspapers Norddeutsche Zeitung, Westdeutsche Zeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung revealed that the federal government had secretly reached a deportation agreement with the Iraqi government that could also apply to the Ezidis.

Germany has become home to the largest Ezidis diaspora community in the world. And the second largest Ezidi community in the world after Iraq. Despite recognition of the Ezidi genocide, less than half of Iraqi Ezidis in Germany have fully accepted asylum applications.

The German state of Thuringia is the second state to ban the deportations of Ezidis.we wish that such consideration will be the federal government. We the Ezidi people left Iraq because Iraq was not able to protect or prevent the genocide. Ezidi people remain a fragile target of further atrocity and no prevention measures have been put in place to prevent such crimes once again against Ezidis.

For Ezidis, Recognizing Genocide Must Include a chance for Rebuilding Community in Europe. Are there other ways we should think about reparation and rehabilitation of survivors? Should we leave them to live in camps that are unfit for human beings for another decade?

Germany: Thuringia introduces ban on deportation for Yazidis The German state of Thuringia Germany is the second state to suspend the potential deportation of Yazidis. Over 200,000 Yazidis live in Germany, making it home to the largest Yazidi diaspora community in the world.
