NICE VUE DU LARGE

A quelques encablures des côtes, caboter lentement en légère embarcation, dos à l'horizon, la main glissant dans l'eau. Jeux d'ombre, brises, odeurs, rumeurs lointaines. Expérience de tous les sens et redécouverte sans contre-jour de la beauté singulière d'une ville, comme enchâssée dans la roche, semblant contenir ses alpes de ses remparts maritimes.

A louvoyer entre voiliers, un avantgoût d'aventure, un frisson de grand départ, là, au prochain cap. Prendre le large ?

Passé le phare, tourné le port, une Méditerranée en son état de nature, immense, puissante, fascinante, inspirante.

Palaces, églises, opéra Le Quai des Etats Unis, les yeux dans les yeux : splendeur architecturale entre monts et flots.

A portée de brasses, au pied du Château, le facétieux ""voleur de chapeaux"" Rauba-Capéu. Les coups de vent de ce rond promontoire ne découragent guère les amateurs de panorama grand format. Émergeant des Ponchettes, le clocher de L'Eglise Sainte Rita, patronne de Nice, assure chacun d'une bienveillante protection. Le retour aux quais sera sans nuages.

A short distance from the shore, coasting along slowly in a small boat with your back to the horizon as your hand trails in the water. A play of shadows, breeze, scents and distant sounds. A full sensory experience and a luminous rediscovery of the unusual beauty of a city that appears to have been set into the rock, seeming to stretch from its peaks to its sea walls.

Tacking between yachts, a foretaste of adventure, the thrill of embarking on a journey, there, around the next headland. Shall we sail out towards the horizon?

Past the lighthouse, around the port, the Mediterranean in its natural state: immense, powerful, fascinating, inspiring.

Palaces, churches, the opera house. The Quai des Etats Unis, face to face: architectural splendour between mounts and waves.

NICE VUE DU LARGE
A few fathoms away, just below the Château, the mischievous ""hat thief"", the Rauba- Capéu. Gusts of wind on this rounded headland do little to discourage devotees of panoramic views. Peeking out from the Ponchettes, the bell tower of the Church of Saint Rita, the patron saint of Nice, benevolently watches over us all. We head back to port under a cloudless sky....
