Remote island logistics bring unique challenges, including limited materials and long shipping delays. Naho handles this by stepping out from behind her desk to build strong, face-to-face relationships with local vendors.

“Government partners and communities are the real experts of their context," Naho explains. "Respectful communication, patience, and genuine connection are key. Building trust takes time, but it makes everything more effective.”

For Naho, the reward is seeing the direct impact on the ground, like visiting outer island schools where children now use new handwashing stations and rainwater tanks.
