Fiji Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) and Transfer Value Validation

Today, humanitarian partners, government representatives, and cluster leads came together to validate Fiji's Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) and Transfer Value (TV)—an important step towards strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring timely, coordinated cash assistance for communities affected by emergencies.

Through technical discussions, shared expertise, and collaboration across sectors, participants reviewed the essential goods and services households need, helping to establish an evidence-based approach that will guide future humanitarian cash responses.

Having an agreed MEB and Transfer Value before disasters strike will improve coordination, support faster decision-making, and help ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most, when they need it most.

Together, we are building a more prepared, resilient, and inclusive Fiji.

| Before supplies can reach communities, they need to be stored safely and efficiently.

As part of the CANDO 4 Project, we're strengthening our preparedness by improving our storage unit to better support pre-positioned relief supplies and greener logistics. Thanks to the dedication of our incredible volunteers, the storage space has been upgraded with new shelving, improved organization, better ventilation, enhanced lighting, and essential repairs.

These improvements help protect emergency supplies, make them easier to access when disasters strike, and create a safer, more efficient working environment for our team.

A huge vinaka vakalevu to our volunteers for your hard work and commitment.

| 📰 REEMAA Project Highlighted by Fiji Sun

A sincere vinaka vakalevu to the Fiji Sun for featuring the launch of ADRA Fiji's REEMAA (Resilience Enhancement & Emergency Mobilisation for Anticipatory Action) project funded by South Pacific Humanitarian Fund.

The coverage highlights a significant step forward as REEMAA pilots Fiji's Anticipatory Action Cash Assistance approach, supporting vulnerable communities with timely assistance before disasters strike. By acting early, families are better equipped to prepare, protect their livelihoods, and build resilience against climate-related risks.

Thank you, Fiji Sun, for helping share the importance of anticipatory action and the positive impact it will have on communities across Fiji.
