Brothers Surf Tours is the best! Surf with anyone else and you're doing it wrong. The name 'Brothers' is descriptive - you will be treated as family.

My friend Tom and I searched for the best surf charter for our 12-day Fiji trip and emailed Brothers. That same day, owner Pana responded warmly, providing everything we needed. His quick response set the tone for our entire trip.

After our 11-hour flight from LAX with 6 boards and 4 bags, we stumbled through customs exhausted. There stood Pana, smiling big. "Welcome Home Brothers," he said, pulling us in for bear hugs and immediately helping with luggage. His warmth was infectious - we instantly felt at home.

Pana waved to every third car on our 30-minute drive, answering our questions about the land, waves, and culture in perfect English. I thought, "are we getting a ride from the mayor?" Everyone knew and loved Pana.

The next day, Tom was sick so I surfed with two others. This is when I met Captain Bete.

Bete picked me up from the Hilton dock in the boat Izzy and we zoomed to Cloudbreak. He drove effortlessly, whipping around shallow parts. Twenty minutes later - perfect, glassy Cloudbreak.

Being from localized San Diego, I asked about filming with my GoPro. Bete said, "My family runs this reef. If anyone has a problem, tell them to speak with me." No room for doubt.

Bete drove right up to the lineup so we could jump into position. We surfed our brains out and paddled back to Izzy, where Bete was smiling and waiting. He ensured we got enough waves and stayed hydrated.

Tom surfed day two with a stranger who became a close friend. Unfortunately, both hit the sharp Cloudbreak reef at Shish-Kabobs, but we got a full session, checking nearby waves and surfing Wilke's Pass. Pana checked on Tom afterward - this became his habit, always seeing if we needed anything.

Day three, with Tom out again, I texted Pana at 1 pm asking if it was too late to surf. Within an hour, I was aboard Izzy with Bete, zooming to Cloudbreak.

Windy afternoon, only two other surfers out. As I suited up, they caught their last waves. Having seen Tom and Jason get cut and only surfed Cloudy twice, I shared my nervousness. Bete assured me, "I am right here brother, I will watch you."

I jumped off into the best session of my life at empty Cloudbreak, kicking off wave after wave to Bete throwing shakas from Izzy. Surrounded by razor sharp reef, I felt safe knowing Bete was watching my back.

Bete commented on how happy I looked. We chilled on Izzy for a few minutes, rejoicing in the beauty. My trust for him skyrocketed.

Next session, I gave Bete my personal camera. His photos were amazing - richer perspective than my GoPro provided. Pictures of Tom and I sharing waves with locals at Restaurants are my favorite. The photos reveal the respect everyone has for Bete and Pana - both men possess true character worthy of admiration.

Over twelve days and countless hours, Brothers exceeded every expectation - every need attended to, every desire accommodated.

Pana and Bete inspired me to become a better version of myself.

Our stay culminated with Tom's foot becoming inoperable on the last day. Pana arranged a wheelchair at Nadi airport and had Sam help carry our luggage - one last act of thoughtfulness representative of our entire Brothers experience.

Booking with Brothers isn't just employing a surf charter. It's being welcomed into a rich local community filled with love, gratitude, and respect for all that is Fiji.

I hope you become Brothers with Pana and his crew. It will ensure you're on the best waves at the best times, and will change your life in the best possible way.
