Jorma Valtonen, a Finnish former professional ice hockey goaltender who played hockey professionally during the years 1964-1987. He played on the Finland men’s national ice hockey team at the 1980 Winter Olympics, and was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1989, and into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1999.

Last year, we joined forces with Saucony Originals to launch a community-driven series called ‘Originals by Hypend’ - featuring some of the people that make Helsinki move. With each talent, we photographed them in their personal space of creativity and printed five superior-quality 70x100cm posters on paper canvases weighing over 300g each. As a homage to the nostalgic vibes of 90s skateboard magazines, we also published a brief Q&A interview with each talent in the Hypend Magazine on our website.

To celebrate the campaign, we invited some members of the Hypend community to spend a day with us at our Showroom in Punavuori, Helsinki. The main idea behind the event was to showcase the five posters featuring the five remarkable talents who fuel the vibrant pulse of Helsinki and to honor the release of Saucony Originals’ new Program Omni 9 Silver in two colorways: Red & Blue.
