Tip Of The Week - Mix with ears, not your eyes.
Having your eyes open can affect the way how you preceive the audio you're listening, closing your eyes in the other hand can enhance your hearing ability and therefore your adjustments will be more rational.

Tip of the week -
Don't mix too loud, the optimal level is where you could have a normal conversation with another person while the track is playing.
It's also very good idea to try to mostly mix with the same volume, you can play it loud every now and then if you want to check if the mix "rocks", but after that go back to the volume where you used to mix.
