Have you ever been in a situation, when you felt insecure about your role or you feared to be furloughed or laid off?
In such situations, what do you do?
Just doing your job better, wouldn’t guarantee you a safety net in hard times. You need a new, better strategy.
After being in a field for several years, any professional starts developing expertise. At this stage, investing in doing more of what you’re good at will yield only incremental improvements.
If you are looking to become invaluable to your organization, the surest way is to add value to people around you, more importantly to people from other adjacent functional areas.
In doing so, you communicate to your superiors that you not only understand but can also work cross-functionally. This will make you a valuable asset for the leaders in your company.
So where do you start?
Recently, the World Economic Forum listed a key skill, to master, that is increasingly being asked by employers is Problem-solving skills.
Why problem-solving?
Because it works across domains. It doesn’t matter from which field you are coming from.
But if you understand the methods of problem-solving, you can solve problems in your own field, but more importantly, you can understand and approach problems in other fields as well.
And this is the surest way to become irreplaceable.
Almost 3 years back, Rahul Abhisek and I were sitting across a table with a senior Executive of one of the largest companies in Finland signing our first deal.
I still remember an overwhelming feeling of happiness paired with anxiety coming from an entrusted responsibility.
3 years later, we have a portfolio of 30+ projects and have worked with some of the most recognizable brands.
Upon reflection, I can confidently say that we achieved this because at StrategyCo.Global we prioritized one skill above all – Structured Problem-Solving.
When COVID-19 hit, like most businesses, our business got adversely impacted, in other words, ‘orders dried up’.
During this phase, we also came across many of our friends who lost jobs or were being furloughed.
We reflected and realized that if we can create value through Structured Problem-Solving for multinational corporations, so can others.
We decided to spread our knowledge to enable everyone to better their lives and open doors to more opportunities.
With this, our team got to work and created LEAP Pro training program.
Our core message to you is – “The only way to be irreplaceable is, by creating value for people around you.” And the surest way of creating value for people and organisations is through effective problem-solving!

When building new products, processes, or even businesses, many companies don't put enough emphasis on defining the problems.
Instead, they are attempting to justify why those issues matter.
Without the right focus, organizations miss opportunities, waste resources, and end up pursuing initiatives that aren’t aligned with their strategic outlook.
Organizations have to become better at asking the right questions to tackle the right problems.
Asking better questions delivers better results.
