Diplomatic Community in Ethiopia Joins Green Legacy Campaign

Ethiopia's commitment to environmental conservation continues to inspire collective action and earn international recognition.
Members of the diplomatic community joined senior Ethiopian government officials in a tree-planting campaign at Entoto Park in Addis Ababa, reaffirming their support for Ethiopia's Green Legacy Initiative. The nationwide program has become a flagship effort to restore degraded landscapes, conserve biodiversity, combat climate change, and promote sustainable development. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority.
Speaking at the program, Kumera Wakjira, Head of the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority, said investing in nature is an investment in a greener, healthier, and more resilient future.
He emphasized that every tree planted today leaves a lasting legacy by restoring ecosystems, strengthening biodiversity, and creating a better environment for future generations.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Ambassador Hadera Abera said the Green Legacy Initiative demonstrates Ethiopia's unwavering commitment to environmental restoration and climate action. He noted that the country's sustained efforts in environmental protection have contributed to its selection to host COP32.
The State Minister also called for stronger international cooperation in addressing global environmental challenges and expressed Ethiopia's sincere appreciation to the diplomatic community for its continued participation and support of the Green Legacy Initiative.
Alula Pankhurst(PhD) of the Ethiopian Heritage Authority stressed that environmental conservation is a national priority backed by strong government commitment and sustained public participation.
He said the Green Legacy Initiative has evolved into a powerful platform for restoring ecosystems, protecting indigenous plant species, and advancing sustainable development for the benefit of present and future generations.
The participation of the diplomatic community reflects growing international recognition of Ethiopia's environmental leadership and highlights the importance of global partnerships in building a greener and more climate-resilient future.

AMN, Gelan Gura Partner to Boost Ethiopia's Industrial Competitiveness and 'Made in Ethiopia' Brand.

The Addis Media Network (AMN) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ethiopia's industrial transformation by helping large-scale industries in Addis Ababa become globally competitive and expanding the international market acceptance of products bearing the "Made in Ethiopia" label.
As part of this effort, AMN and the Gelan Gura Industrial Park signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in promoting the country's manufacturing sector, attracting investment, and enhancing the visibility of Ethiopian-made products in both domestic and international markets.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Tilahun Kassa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Addis Media Network emphasized that industrial parks such as Gelan Gura play a vital role in driving Ethiopia's economic growth, creating employment opportunities, boosting exports, and accelerating industrialization.
The Deputy CEO stated that AMN is committed to providing comprehensive media coverage and promotional support to showcase the achievements, production capacity, and innovation of industries operating within the park.
According to him, the partnership will contribute to improving the global competitiveness of Ethiopian manufacturers while strengthening the country's image as a reliable production and investment destination.
On his part, Zemen Junedi, Investment, Promotion and Marketing Sector CEO at Gelan Gura Industrial Park, noted that several industries operating in the park have already begun exporting their products to various African countries, demonstrating the growing quality and competitiveness of Ethiopian manufacturing.
Zemen explained that the industrial park entered into the partnership with Addis Media Network to highlight the high standards of products manufactured within the park, promote the "Made in Ethiopia" brand to international market, and attract additional local and foreign investment.
Zemen added that increased media engagement will play an important role in creating greater awareness of the industrial park's capabilities, strengthening investor confidence, and expanding market opportunities for manufacturers.
Gelan Gura Industrial Park covers 93 hectares and is equipped with modern infrastructure designed to support industrial investment and manufacturing. The park provides a conducive environment for production, innovation, and export-oriented industries, making it one of Addis Ababa's key industrial hubs.
The partnership between AMN and Gelan Gura Industrial Park is expected to enhance public awareness of Ethiopia's industrial progress, promote export-oriented manufacturing, and support the country's broader vision of building internationally competitive industries and increasing the global recognition of products proudly labeled "Made in Ethiopia."

PM Abiy Ahmed, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Stability
