Deepfake cyber-attacks: what they are, why they matter, and how to stop them
What is a deepfake cyber-attack?
A deepfake cyber-attack uses AI-generated or AI-manipulated audio, video, or images to impersonate a person or fabricate events in order to deceive targets. Attack goals include fraud (money transfers), social engineering (credential theft), reputational harm, extortion, and disinformation campaigns.
