The FISATUR (Atlantic Network of Tourist Experiences to Promote the Fishing and Maritime) is a project directly linked to the fishery and tourism sectors to achieve coastal fishing regions proper economic growth, though the integration and promotion of Atlantic tourist products and services linked to the fishing and maritime heritage. The FISATUR project will contribute to assess the fishing touri
sm model that can help spreading an innovative and sustainable way to think and use the coastal resources. The FISATUR project, with a 28 months' duration, has three phases:
First phase: Identify and assess tourism products and services linked to fishing maritime heritage, using a common methodology integrated into a web tool. Second phase: Promote 10 viable business ideas per country through the support from the program's incubator. The best two ideas per country showcased from the incubator program will participate in the trade navegation route from France to Portugal. This project has six partners from Spain, France and Portugal: FUNDAMAR (Fundación para la Pesca y el Marisqueo), as project coordenator, and ICSEM (Instituto para el Crecimiento Sostenible de la Empresa), in Spain, Institut Agro Rennes-Angers and Technopole Quimper-Cornouaille, in France, and Comunidade Intermunicipal do Alto Minho and Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, in Portugal. FISATUR is co-financed by the European Union through the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), and managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
