CUT DOWN on sth - reduce the amount of something you consume, use or do

🗣 I’ve been trying to cut down on coffee. I wouldn’t completely stop drinking it, just less and less.
🗣 You should cut down on social media, it’s ruining your life.

CUT BACK on sth - reduces the amount of something, especially your expenditure

🗣 We have to cut back on our spending.

CUT sth OUT - completely eliminate something from your diet, habits, routine
