La faceta artística personal de es el punto de partida desde el que se construye buena parte de lo que hoy es Banjo.

La pasada semana, en el marco de la exposición monográfica de Radiante Light Art Studio en el museo de artes digitales Bombas Gens (Valencia), Iván cerró cada uno de los cuatro días de la muestra con un live set de su proyecto Nokepler. Piano, música concreta y electrónica se entrelazaron con la instalación lumínica reactiva creada por Radiante, dando lugar a una experiencia inmersiva donde sonido y luz dialogaban en tiempo real.

Fue un evento de experimentación abierto al público, en el que proceso artístico, interpretación en directo y tecnología se encontraron sin filtros. Salir del estudio y recibir feedback directo de la audiencia nos recuerda por qué hacemos lo que hacemos: crear contextos sonoros que conecten con las personas.

Más de 500 personas asistieron al live y más de 2.000 recorrieron las instalaciones lumínico-sonoras fruto de nuestra colaboración con Radiante.

A few months ago, we stopped for a moment and realized something important:

BANJO is not a studio.
We’re not a traditional music house.

We don’t work for, we work with.
We draw inspiration from many disciplines: philosophy, science, literature, film, architecture, design...
We see ourselves as craftsmen of sound.

We pour ourselves into finding that idea that solves the problem the other way around; one that leaves a mark.

Like in craftsmanship itself: the better it fulfills its purpose, the more beautiful it becomes.

So no.
This isn’t a studio.
It’s an atelier.

And we want to share it WITH you. 🙂

Hace unos meses nos detuvimos y nos dimos cuenta de algo importante:
BANJO no es un estudio.

No somos una music house al uso.
No trabajamos para, trabajamos con.

Nos inspiran muchas disciplinas: filosofía, ciencia, literatura, cine, arquitectura, diseño... 

Nos sentimos artesanos del sonido.
Porque nos desvivimos por encontrar esa idea que resuelva el problema inverso, pero que también deje impronta.
Como en la artesanía: cuanto mejor cumple su función, más bella se vuelve.

Así que no.
Esto no es un estudio.
Es un atelier. Y queremos compartirlo CONtigo. 😊

And finally, after almost a year and a half, Banjo’s 1st vinyl record is ready for its distribution ➡️ Nokepler by our Sound Art Director .music

A concept album, a cinematic soundtrack chronicling the haunting journey of Nokepler. An inhospitable landscape, with no horizon, where sound is the only dimension.

Ibán Ramón has designed two different covers representing two moments of the same abstract sequence. The title has been silkscreened onto the shrink wrap. Once removed, there is no text on the outer sleeve, with the only information appearing on the inner sleeve. The B side label and the back of the vinyl are in black to reflect the sonorous silence of the work. The design distances itself from any concrete representation and connects with the landscape of avant-garde textures and the compact and industrial sound of the album.

We are exhausted after all our hard work but it has definitely been worth the journey. We can’t wait to get it out there and receive your feedback 🙏. Stay tuned over the next few days for news about where you can find it!
