That’s the time someone walking a tradeshow aisle gives your booth before deciding to stop or keep moving. And in those 3.5 seconds they’re not reading, they’re scanning: height, contrast, shapes.

So the rule is simple: one message, big enough to read from across the aisle. Who you are + what you do. Everything else belongs in the conversation.
