🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Mariana Castro - Head of Sales & Marketing, Grupo Sotecnisol | Les Roches BBA '21

Mariana Castro's career began in luxury hospitality - at Mandarin Oriental in Prague and Six Senses in the Douro Valley. At 24, she reached a crossroads: continue building a career in hotels, or commit to her family's legacy. She chose the latter, and hasn't looked back.

As Head of Sales & Marketing at Grupo Sotecnisol - a group her grandfather founded and her father leads - Mariana drives growth across more than 20 companies operating in construction, renewable energy, human resources, and agribusiness, spanning five countries.

Two weeks ago, she was named to the Forbes Portugal 30 Under 30 list - recognition that reflects both her professional impact and the fresh, growth-driven perspective she has brought to a multi-generational business. She has also been invited by the President of Portugal to join a select group of young people advising on the future of the country.

Mariana credits Les Roches with shaping her leadership philosophy: "It taught me that to truly lead, you first need to know how to do the work yourself - and it instilled in me the importance of leading by example."

Her advice: "The path is made by walking it. Every professional started out as an amateur. You try, you learn, you do - and through that process, you improve."
