We have also completed the design of a spectacular private villa in Salobreña, in the coast of Granada, on a very steep hill in forn of the sea. The house is currently being built and we have developed and managed the design, the planning permission, the interior design, the engineering, the cost control, the contractual terms between parties and the construction management. In Spain the scope of
the architect is wider than in the UK: here the Architect holds responsibility for the full scope of the works including structural and mechanical engineering The Spanish architect is usually given the task of managing and controlling costs. It is therefore very important that you rely on experienced architects for your home development. Following our overseas experience we have tried to implement the way in which things are done in UK and other European countries where the work is developed in a team and in which early collaboration since the beginning of the project ensures better results. Together with Juan Diego Guarderas, a very experienced man on site works, structural analysis and construction who lives in Granada and knows the local ground very well, we have established a team of professionales to provide a full scope service from selecting the best plots, considering the potential to build, develpoing the Proyecto Básico and Proyecto de Ejecución (the Project), obtaining the Licencia de Obras (Planning Permission) to managing the process, selecting the builders through competition in prices and delivering the built project.
