Based in Madrid, Em Friendship is a prolific writer across many styles, (mainly DnB, RnB, Neo Soul, House) and has been writing all her life. After over a decade in an electronic band who gigged around the UK with live instrumentalists and with a stack of albums under her belt, she currently shines when collaborating with ambitious and motivated producers. With a quirky and soulful funk / jazz voice (think Kucka, Beth Gibbons and Yukimi Nagano met at a cocktail bar and took Aluna and Kelis to the afterparty, - but woke up on the comedown with Tasha Baxter). In her decades of writing and performing, Friendship had the pleasure of working with Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks’ producer, supporting the Specials comeback tour in 2008 in Brixton Academy, supporting Freestylers and Groove Armada members and US band Killola. Although she had a long hiatus for some personal reasons, in September 2020 a move to Madrid changed her life. A song struck like lightening in late December 2021 as she walked the Madrid streets and it’s been a nonstop roller coaster since then of writing and recording. Seizing the opportunity that the universe gave of channelling some standout original Drum and Bass, Neo Soul and pop songs.
