We are thrilled to announce Casa Entrevías, our latest project at STUDIO.NOJU, featured in the October issue of Arquitectura y Diseño magazine (). The project involved the complete transformation of a traditional two-story social housing unit in the Entrevías neighborhood of Madrid.

The renovation focused on maximizing natural light and spatial openness by removing the original load-bearing walls and replacing them with a lightweight metal structure. The ground floor was reimagined as a continuous living, dining, and kitchen space, with the staircase repositioned to the perimeter, creating an uninterrupted visual connection from the entrance to the patio at the back. This intervention enhances the sense of space and flow throughout the 80-square-meter home.

About Torres Blancas

A key part of the project involved expanding the existing apartment’s exterior area on the two floors from 15 sqm to 80 sqm to recover the amount of exterior outdoor space that existed in the original unit before multiple past renovations that incorporated to the interior space.

This expansion added terraces that are characterized by a new curved floor-to-ceiling glazing and slatted crimson shutters. These open onto gleaming green ceramic tiles that take cues from the 1960s interiors and form new built-in benches, fountain and planters that follow the terraces’ meandering contours.
