The BPG was founded in late 2010 by a group of interested and experienced photography members of the Booth Western Art Museum, a Smithsonian affiliated museum. The Guild continues to grow with over 160 members from all areas of Atlanta, North Georgia and several US states. Through its sponsorship by the Booth, the Guild can provide programming on a national scale. A juried Fall Photography Exhibition is held annually at the museum for three months, and at the Downtown Gallery in the Winter, Spring and Fall. The monthly meetings (in person or via Zoom) as well as weekly critiques of members’ work by accomplished photographers, hands-on classes, field trips and special interest groups as well as lectures by visiting photographers. Periodically, workshops and classes on post processing software are offered. Mentoring is a strong part of the Guild’s mission.
The BPG page is a private group, but we hope you will consider joining and becoming a member of the Museum and the Guild. BPG is called a guild not a club due to the learning experience we offer.
