RAVENNA IP-based networking technology

ST 2110 audio is split into two transport methods - each built for a different job 💪
✅ ST 2110‑30 moves linear PCM and aligns directly with AES67 for interoperability.
✅ ST 2110‑31 extends this to AES3, metadata and formats like Dolby®E, based on RAVENNA’s AM824.
Together with AES67, these standards define how audio travels reliably across IP networks - all supported within RAVENNA.

Three shows. One week.
A strong showing from our RAVENNA Partners across the board 💪
At the Peerless‑AV Showcase, Netgear demonstrated the switching platforms used across many Pro AV and RAVENNA workflows 🔌
At PLASA, Peavey Electronics, Sennheiser and RiedeI Communications showcased their latest RAVENNA‑enabled solutions 🔊
And at MPTS, LAWO, Netgear, Meinberg and DirectOut highlighted how RAVENNA supports modern broadcast, timing and IP production 📡
Event season is well underway - with more RAVENNA Partner highlights coming in June from ABTT: Association of British Theatre Technicians and InfoComm Show 🔜

Demystifying Discovery
Part 2: Why Discovery Isn’t Required & The Future of AES67
In Part 1, we unpacked AES67, SIP and discovery mechanisms - so is discovery actually necessary? 🔊
AES67 was designed to allow audio to pass and intended to make things as flexible as possible.
Implementing a method of discovery could have actually inhibited some protocols from becoming AES67 compatible ❌
Advertisement and discovery, as well as directory services, are used for lots of other services purposes on a network. These services are already in place and may be used for AES67 advertisement streams as well.
🔑 The key to the future success of AES67 is to be as compatible as possible.
Discovery is helpful, but not essential.
Swipe through our carousel for a deeper look at why discovery is optional, and the future of AES67 ➡️
