I was born in Barcelona, but when I was two, my family and I moved to Madrid and then to Guadalajara in Castile, Spain, where I grew up. I also lived in London for a few years which is why my heart belongs to many places. I have always been interested in studying culture and that is why I hold a BA in Spanish and Latin American Studies. In 2003, I took a course to become a Spanish teacher and aft
erwards I completed two Masters qualifications in foreign language teaching. I am also an accredited DELE examiner by Instituto Cervantes for all levels from A1 to C2. After working in some of the best Spanish schools in Barcelona, in 2019 I decided to begin my solo adventure and so "Spanish tea" started. I am interested in many subjects and I really enjoy talking with my students about any topic. The way I teach is by adapting to each student. In this way, we can focus on individual needs so I adapt the lessons according to the specific requirements, objectives and level of Spanish of each of my students. By doing so, we can focus on developing oral expression and/or other skills such as improving grammar or pronunciation, but above all, I help my students to gain confidence in speaking Spanish. For me, a language is much more than its grammar. Today there are many applications to learn languages. Some of them are very useful for learning grammar and vocabulary. However, while language apps have their uses, human interaction is, from my point of view, much more enriching. When you have a language teacher, you can connect much more closely with the culture that surrounds a language and understand not only how people say something in another language, but why. For me, learning a language is much more than learning grammar and vocabulary. The way I see it, idioms, colloquialisms, slang and even swear words are also very important, as they are part of the culture, and you don't really know a language if you can't use them correctly.
