EXTRAORDINARY REGULARISATION

On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, the Government approved an extraordinary regularisation programme aimed at foreign nationals in an irregular situation who are already in Spain.

The requirements to be eligible for this regularisation are:

- To have been in Spain for at least 5 months prior to 31 December 2025.
This can be proven with any public and/or private document (stamped passport, electricity, water, telephone bills, rental contracts, registration with the local council, medical appointments, etc.).
In the case of applicants for international protection, it will be sufficient for the asylum application to have been submitted before 31 December 2025.

- Have no criminal record.

Term: From April to 30 June 2026.

Benefits: Those who benefit from this measure will be able to obtain a residence permit in Spain, valid for one year.

This permit will allow them to work in all sectors and anywhere in the country.
In addition, the process will allow minor children to be regularised at the same time.

The measure will apply generally, without distinction of nationality.
