ASU EERI Student Chapter

de to further promote interest in Earthquake Engineering, ASU EERI is the first and only student chapter in Egypt and the fifth in the Middle East following four universities in Turkey. The tower is scored on a number of categories including architecture, model predictions, building revenue and costs, team presentations, and most importantly whether the structure survives an earthquakes which is simulated using a device called Shaking table. Our Main Goals:

1- Joining an Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition held by the EERI, which was previously run by the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER). The competition is held during the U.S. National Conference on Earthquake Engineering and the EERI Annual Meeting.

2- Holding seminars by inviting influential speakers whether from Egypt or abroad who will be giving Academic-related speeches.

3- Developing relationship with secondary education programs to promote the study and practice of earthquake engineering and raising community awareness about the dangers of earthquakes and methods to mitigate their effects.
