Upon arrival, we’ll begin by visiting two of Aswan’s most incredible landmarks:

🪔 The Unfinished Obelisk – a monument that holds one of ancient Egypt’s greatest secrets.

Deep inside the granite quarries of Aswan lies a story frozen in time. The Unfinished Obelisk was meant to be the largest ever built, carved from a single piece of stone weighing over 1,200 tons. But during its creation, a crack appeared in the granite — forcing the workers to abandon it forever.

What makes this site extraordinary is that it reveals the ancient Egyptians’ building techniques with astonishing clarity. The marks of their tools remain visible, showing that they used dolorite stones to carve the granite with precision that still amazes modern engineers.
