Integral Consult has actively participated in the first session of the newly formed Technical Committee for Hazardous Materials and Waste (“Committee 53”), held on 29 April 2026 at Cairo House under the Ministry of Local Development and Environment وزارة التنمية المحلية والبيئة, as part of the implementation of Egypt’s Waste Management Law No. 202 of 2020.
During the session, Integral Consult presented the Solid Waste Management Guidelines developed for the pulp and paper industrial sector under the GIZ NSWMP program, in support of the Waste Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA) and the Egyptian Ministry of Environment (MoE). The guideline is one of two sector-specific guidelines developed by Integral Consult, with the second guideline for the tanning and leather sector to be presented in a future committee session. We were happy to respond to all the questions and to engage in the fruitful discussions with the committee members and stakeholders on key waste management practices and implementation considerations for the sector.
The meeting brought together representatives from relevant ministries and authorities to discuss strengthening hazardous waste management systems, updating regulatory frameworks, and enhancing environmental compliance in line with Egypt’s vision for a sustainable green economy.
At Integral Consult, we remain committed to supporting the development of practical environmental frameworks and sectoral guidelines that advance sustainable waste management practices in Egypt.

Integral Consult is proud to have successfully supported the Egyptian Ministry of Environment during the UNFCCC in-country review of Egypt’s first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) between 26–30 April 2026 in Cairo.
Given the international experience of its lead reviewers, Integral Consult supported the Ministry and the national experts in responding to the questions of the international technical expert review team (TERT) before and during the review week. The support also included the deep technical discussions with the TERT about the identified capacity building needs and areas of improvements. The review covered key components including greenhouse gas inventories, progress toward NDC implementation, policies and measures, and adaptation.
Egypt’s successful completion of its first review under the UNFCCC (UN Climate Change) review marks a significant milestone under the Enhanced Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement, with international reviewers commending the high level of transparency, technical rigor, and professionalism demonstrated by the Egyptian national team.
At Integral Consult, we remain committed to supporting national climate governance processes and strengthening transparency, technical capacity, and international climate engagement across the region.
