In order to meet the most difficult technical requirements of various designs, TISTAM offers an extensive range of one-part or multi-sectional piston rings and rider bands, with or without tension springs, as well as pressure-released parts. The piston rings and rider bands were produced in a wide range of customized systems and use numerous materials for the application in horizontal, vertical or v-shaped cylinders. Piston rings are used to seal the piston. They largely prevent gas from flowing out of the compression chamber. In the case of straight or obliquely cut piston rings, overflow of gas at the joint
is unavoidable. Therefore, several piston rings are arranged one behind the other to improve the sealing effect. Rider bands have the task of ensuring precise guidance of the piston rod and piston in the cylinder during operation. They ensure that there is no metallic contact between the piston and the cylinder or cylinder liner at any time.
