Sarafiya Bridge over the Tigris River | Iraq 🇮🇶

We are proud to have contributed to the Sarafiya Bridge project over the Tigris River in Iraq, a major steel bridge structure comprising multiple steel girders, each approximately 104 meters in length and weighing around 1,000 tons.

Our scope of work included the design and ex*****on of a custom jacking system to lift and precisely position each steel girder from the temporary support system onto the permanent piers and abutments.

The operation was carried out in two critical stages:
• Stage 1 – Controlled lifting of the steel girder from the temporary supports.
• Stage 2 – Precision lowering and final
settlement of the girder onto the bridge bearings.

The final lowering operation involved a vertical movement of approximately 1.10 m and required extremely tight tolerances to avoid bearing overstress, differential settlement, or unintended load concentrations.

All spans were successfully seated on their bearings with full alignment and structural safety.
