What happens to the body when eating sugar? And what is sugar in the first place? And what is its harm?

what sugar
Sugar is a simple form of carbohydrate that contains monosaccharides, such as fructose, found in fruits, galactose, found in dairy products, and disaccharides. Sucrose, table sugar, and the lactose found in dairy

What happens to the body when you eat sugar?

Olga Nechaeva warns that excessive consumption of sugar may lead to many health problems, such as:

to constant hunger
The sweets that we consume on a daily basis, such as cake and chocolate, are fast carbohydrates. No matter how much you eat, you will feel like eating more. As sugar stops the production of the hormone Leptin, which is responsible for feeling full, so the brain will continue to issue signals that you are hungry and need to eat.

2- Weight gain
Mostly, sugar lovers suffer from obesity, as they eat more food and gain weight over time

3- Premature aging
Increased blood sugar levels lead to disturbances in metabolic processes, so cells die at least twice as fast, compared to those who follow a healthy diet. This leads to sagging skin, cellulite, metabolic disorders and wrinkles.

4- Tooth decay
Sugar causes great damage to the teeth, as the bacteria that live in the mouth and play a role in preparing food for digestion, change when chewing sugars, and produce acid, and this leads to the erosion of tooth enamel and the emergence of caries.

5- Deterioration of brain functions
Scientists believe that sweets stimulate brain activity, but in a different way than positive stimulation. It is possible to stimulate the brain by eating a small piece of chocolate at the time of the tests, for example, but if you are addicted to sweets and eat them constantly, the effect becomes reverse. Scientists have proven that a continuous rise in blood sugar leads to a decline in cognitive functions in the brain

6- Cirrhosis
The liver is one of the most affected organs in the body due to excessive consumption of sugar. The accumulation of fat and the increase in the volume of liver tissue eventually lead to cirrhosis.
