In 1927, the American aviator, officer, author, inventor, and activist Charles Augustus Lindbergh flew from New York city to Paris. Lindbergh covered 5,800 km in 33hours 30 minutes. This was the first solo transatlantic non-stop trip.

Many people went in solo transatlantic trips then after including Richard Byrd in 1927, Ludwik Idzikowiski in 1928

Then in 1932, Amelia Mary Earhart set off from Harbour Grace and landed in Northern Ireland after 14 hours, 56 minutes to be the first woman to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic.

The two who are famous for flying solo non-stop transatlantic are Lindbergh and Earhart. Despite being the fourth to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic, she is as famous as the first one. Why?

She is famous for being the first WOMAN to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic. The merit: If you can't be the first, be the first in your category.

A common question: I've been working for this organisation for a while, how should I ask for a salary raise?

1- Don't try to negotiate via text or email!
This reflects low confidence, low self esteem and poor communication skills. Ask for a meeting face to face, or even through the phone.

2- Come to the meeting with facts not feelings:
Make a case presentation of your contributions.

3- Ask questions, don't make statements:
Whoever asks questions, controls the conversation. Ask leading questions.

4- Set the agenda (at home):
Determine what's the outcome you want from this meeting.

5- Don't be needy:
Don't use ( I need, I want)
Use ( I'd be comfortable with.....) or ( Is their any flexibility with that?)

6- Become more valuable:
You can ask and find ways to become more valuable to the organisation. Years don't count, what counts is what you bring to the organisation.

What to do is simple. This's "Getting Things Done" time management method, by David Allen.
1- Collect: gather all the sticky notes and bills littering your space, and write down any appointments, ideas or tasks
2- Process: many times a day for seconds analyse the situation. Can you complete the task? Can you delegate it?
3- Organize: Toss it, file it, or add it to a To- Do list
4- Review: review your inbox, your calendar, and your To- Do list.
5- Do: start and finish your tasks.
