مصمم الجرافيك مسئول بشكل أساسي عن أ ي تصاميم تتعلق بالشركة التي يعمل بها، بداية من لوجو أو شعار الشركة ومروراً بأي تصاميم دعائية على المنصات المختلفة بما في ذلك الدعاية التلفازية إن وجدت. ويجب على مصمم الجرافيك أن يكون ملماً بالدليل الخاص بتصاميم الشركة والذي يحدد معايير أو قواعد محددة أثناء إعداد التصاميم، كالالتزام بألوان محددة أو طريقة كتابة معينة..إلخ.

يلتزم مصمم الجرافيك كذلك في التواصل الدائم مع شركاء العمل في مجال الدعاية والإعلان، كمسئولي الدعاية الخارجية على الطرقات أو مسئولي الدعاية على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي أو حتى في بعض الأحيان مسئولي الدعاية على شبكات التلفاز.

فمصمم الجرافيك معني دائماً بمتابعة هذه الأعمال منذ مرحلة جمع الأفكار للتصميم الجديد وحتى نشر التصميم على القنوات الدعائية المختلفة للتأكد مرة أخر من عدم تواجد أخطاء في التصميم قد تؤدي إلى نتائج عكسية.

لا داعي طبعاً لذكر أهمية الدراية الكاملة بأهم وأبرز برامج التصميم مثل Photoshop و Illustratorو QuarkXPressو InDesign وغيرها الكثير، وكل منها له استخداماته بحسب طبيعة عمل مصمم الجرافيك.

Design web pages, brochures, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and other communication materials.
Create these materials by hand or by using technology, including computer software programs. Adobe's Creative Suite—including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more—is the standard in the industry, and most employers expect designers to be proficient with its programs.
Meet with manger to gain an understanding of what they want their proposed communications to look like. Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications.
Select type size and style to enhance the readability of text and image.
Produce drafts for review by manger and make revisions based on the feedback received.
Review final productions for errors and ensure that final prints reflect client specifications.
